Frequently Asked Questions
What Is threefold?
Threefold is a creative group made by and for young people.
We meet weekly in term term and support young people to collaborate and realise their ideas. We create performances, and explore acting, music movement and making throughout the year.
We also run theatre trips and experiences and some weekend sessions in the lead up to performances.
You can find more about each group on the pages below. All are welcome to come and try a session for free

WHEN and where ARE SESSIONS ?
We meet weekly during term time at the Easton Community Centre. The regularity means we can build the group rapport, develop skills and confidence and also work towards performances. We will hold your place for as long as you want to be involved and when you leave or move up to the next company we will offer it to another young person.
Company 1 for Years 3 & 4 - Wednesday 4-5 pm
Company 2 for years 5,6 & 7 - Wednesday 5.15- 6.30 pm
Company 3 for years 8 - 12 - Friday 5-7pm
If your child can’t make a session, please let us know before the session via our WhatsApp number or text message 07470224522.
Will they have to perform?
Not if they don’t want to. We’re not about churning out singing, dancing and acting kids. We recognise all the incredible roles, skills and qualities needed in creative projects. We will always encourage our young people to be brave and challenge themselves in many areas of performance making.
In in Company 1 we create performances that are shared with family and friends in the familiarity of our Community Centre. In Company 2 &3 we perform both in our home setting and further a field including larger professional venues such as the Bristol Old Vic & Bristol festivals.
Do I need to drop off and pick up my young person?
Company 1 young people will need to be dropped off and collected by an adult. We will check them out with their adult as the session finishes.
We partner with local school Bannerman Road and collect young people from Company 1 up from school on a Wednesday. Please let us know if you would like to find out more about this wrap round.
In Company 2 and 3 young people can make their own way to and from sessions. If your young person doesn’t arrive we’ll give you a call so do let us know in advance in they are late or not able to attend.
If you prefer to pick up and drop off please do. There is communal work space and play space and a cafe in the building.
How much does it cost?
We believe everyone should have access to creative opportunities and ask families to support this ethos by paying what they can for their young persons place.
In order to make sure this group is accessible to everyone we offer a Pay What You Can fee system. Please read the pay what you can page/ guidance and choose a place that feels right for you.
Fee’s from paid places cover less than a half of our costs and we apply for additional funding to cover fully funded and subsidised places. The real cost of one young persons place is £55 a month.
How Else can I support Threefold?
We are a Community Theatre Company which means our families and young people are at the heart of what we do. If you can contribute in helping us with out work, putting up some flyers, spreading the word about our groups, or contributions towards our shows and events we would love to hear from you! We have a Friends of Threefold Group and an advisory board and you can find out more about how to get involved on our community page.
What are your policies?
At the start and end of each session we check in with our groups. The values we refer to are Kindness, Courage, Collaboration and Commitment. You can read more about our values, social graces and safeguarding procedures in the links or footer at the bottom.
How can I join ?
Fill in our join form and we will invite you along at the start of a new term to give the group a try for a free taster session. We have a wait list for some of our groups and will be in contact when a place becomes available.
